artdescription
All his remaining strength left the nighthawk. Folding in his wings, he plummeted down towards the earth. But then, just when his weak legs were only inches from the ground,
quite suddenly he began to shoot upwards again like a rocket. Up he went, and when he came co the middle regions of the sky, he shook his body and ruffled up his feathers just as an eagle does before attacking a bear.

Yuichi Inoue was born in 1916 and died in 1985.
In 1957, Inoue exhibited “Foolishness” at the Sao Paulo Biennial, where it was highly acclaimed by art critic Harvard Reed alongside works by Pollock, Soulages, and others, and went on to gain international recognition. Later, he joined the Bokujin-kai led by Shiryu Morita and established a new world of calligraphy, which has been highly acclaimed overseas.

-- I storongly believe that calligraphy is the only highest formative art that will build the next world, and so I am dedicated to this path. --

Yuichi Inoue, “Calligraphy is the highest formative art.
