Gyokushitsu Sōhaku (1572-1641) was a Kyotoite who went by the name Hitomi Nemiko. He succeeded to the Dharma of Haruya Soen and was promoted to the 147th generation at Daitokuji Temple in 1607. In 1608, he opened Hoshun-in Temple for Matsumatsu, the wife of Toshiie Maeda, in Daitokuji Temple. In 1620, Emperor Goyozei bestowed upon him the title of Naozashi Shingen Zenji. He was involved in the Murasaki Incident of 1629 and was temporarily exiled to Mutsu Akadate (present-day Fukushima Prefecture).
