Kuroda Tōkō (1787-1846) was a samurai of the Tottori domain in the late Edo period. His family name was Hayashi and his first name was Bunsho, and his common name was Rokunojo. His first name was Inaba, and later Inatsatsu.
Born as the younger brother of Hayashi Genzaburo, a Tottori domain samurai, he was adopted by the Kuroda family, who were vassals of the Ikeda family of the Tottori Shinden domain (Higashidate domain). He became an apprentice to Ikeda Nakamasa, the lord of the domain, and often went to Edo to perform official duties. He loved painting from his childhood and studied under Inamine Hijikata, who was an official painter of the domain. From the time he was in his 20s, he painted a wide range of subjects, specializing in hawks and carp.
