Takada Keiho(1674-1755) was a painter of the mid-Edo period. Born in Hino, Omi. His first name was Takahisa, and his common name was Tokuemon. His aliases include Baima Hao’o and Chikugakusai. He studied painting under Kano Eikei, the fourth generation Kano painter. He also worked with Eikei at the Omuro Palace, where he was given the title of “Toyozentaime” and the Fujiwara family name. In 1735, at the age of 62, he was appointed Hobashi, and at the age of 69, Hogan, and thereafter he was known as “Takata Hogan. In his later years, he lived for a time in Kanda, Edo (Tokyo), and spent the last years of his life in Hino, his hometown. Some of his students were Omi Hino merchants who had stores in the Kanto region, and it is known that Shimazaki Unpo and his disciple Koizumi Hui and others were taught by Keisuke.
