Monchū Jōfuku (1738-1829) was a late Edo period ōbaku priest. Born in Ise.While staying at Shokokuji Temple, he studied painting under Ito Jakuchu, and followed Dainen Ken constantly to study Zen calligraphy.He excelled in poetry, writing, calligraphy, and painting, and was friends with Tachibana Chikage, Ike Taiga, and others.
