Nagasawa Rohō (1804-1871) was born in Kyoto. He learned painting from his father, Nagasawa Rosyu. Specialized in portraits and flower-and-bird paintings. He is known for his paintings of the Empress’s Palace at the time of the construction of the Ansei Palace. In his later years, he participated in Nyounsha, which was led by Bunrin Shiokawa.
