Yuichi Inoue was born in 1916 and died in 1985.
In 1957, Inoue exhibited “Foolishness” at the Sao Paulo Biennial, where it was highly acclaimed by art critic Harvard Reed alongside works by Pollock, Soulages, and others, and went on to gain international recognition. Later, he joined the Bokujin-kai led by Shiryu Morita and established a new world of calligraphy, which has been highly acclaimed overseas.
