- Yō Sekinen(1843–1897)
A Korean painter of the late Joseon dynasty.
Born in Jung-hwa (中和), his personal name was Gi-hun (基薫), courtesy name Chi-nam (穉南), and he also used the sobriquet Pae-sang Yuin (浿上漁人), among others.
He resided in Pyongyang and was especially renowned for his paintings of reeds and wild geese.
Yang was one of the notable professional painters active during the final years of the Joseon dynasty.
He passed away in 1897 (the first year of Gwangmu; Meiji 30) at the age of 54.
