“Crested Myna on a Tree”

This art was drawn by Yosa Buson when he was 46 years old, a few years later whan he came back to Kyōto from Miyazu.
This depicts a myna crying on a rock in the field.
Buson drew a lot of myna like this. He also drew some kites and ravens.

Yosa Buson (1716-1784) was born in Ōsaka.

He went to Tokyo when he was 20 years old and started to learn haiku.
In his late 30s he started to draw paintings.
He came back to Kyōto when he was 42 years old and then continued to compose haiku and draw paintings.
