- Description
- Morikazu Kumagai (1880-1977) was born in Gifu.
In 1900, he entered Tokyo University of the Arts, and was taught by Seiki Kuroda.
It was in his 60s when he established so-called "Kumagai Style" with unique methods.
His art style is based on a procedure with transcription that was being tried to develop since about 1935.
